Leave-In Right Heart
From Bay Area Structural Heart Wiki
The leave-in swan procedure is for patients that require constant PA pressure measurements in the ICU. A Continuous Cardiac Output Swan catheter is placed in the Right IJ vein and floated to the Pulmonary artery.
The swan catheter is attached to a 3cc/hour ICU manifold to prevent clotting, and this manifold is used to record the pressures during the procedure.
This manifold requires the McKesson cable that is stored in the same cabinet as the leave-in swans.
Be sure it is returned to the cabinet after the procedure!
