ROUGH DRAFT: Loop Implant Procedure Workflow

1. Patient Identification and Pre-Procedure Check o Confirm patient’s full name and date of birth using two identifiers o Verify and document allergies o Verify procedure and consent form is signed and complete 2. Patient Preparation o Walk patient to ACU bathroom o Provide:  Hospital gown  Hair cover and shoe cover  Belongings bag for clothes and personal items o Instruct patent to:  Remove everything from the waist up  Put on a hospital gown open to the front  Place personal belonging in the bag 3. Transfer to Procedure Room o Walk patient to the procedure room once ready o Assist patient onto the procedure table. o Bring pillow from ACU o Prep and monitoring:  Attach ECG leads, blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter.  Ensure comfort and explain each step 4. During Procedure o Maintain patient comfort and safety o Monitor vital signs throughout 5. Post-procedure Care o Remove ECG stickers and blood pressure cuff o Assess the insertion site for bleeding or swelling o Ensure patient is stable before ambulation 6. Recovery and Discharge o Walk patient back to the bathroom to change into personal clothing o Assist as needed for safety o Accompany patient to the waiting room o Provide discharge instructions for wound care and follow up. Device instructions given by the company representative 7. Documentation o Document completion of all steps, including consent, monitoring, patient tolerance and discharge condition 8. Discharge patient from the facility o In Epic Status board highlight patient’s name o Go to “Patient Movement” and select “Discharge” as the disposition o Verify discharge location and time
