Pre-Procedure Watchouts
Ultrasound patient first before opening catheter to confirm they have enough fluid for the procedure Procedure will be done with patient sitting up, legs draped over side of bed and leaning on our table Have pillow available for patient to lean Have suction canisters ready for drainage Normal Saline 0.9% 1000 ml

• Aspira Pleural home dressing kit (Blue box – Pyxis outside Lab 3)
• Suction tubing
• 5 in 1 adapter

• Dermabond
• Will get access first, then tunnel towards the access

Dare

• Tunnel, retrograde after inserting

Raj

• Patient supine
• Access then tunnel
• Arms out to side (not above head)
• 75cm Amplatz wire
• Exofin

Brittany

• Will get access first, then tunnel
• 3.0 Vicryl
• Dermabond/Exofin
