Anesthesia Imaging Access
Sedation Fluoro
  • Flank on affected side
Pre-Procedure Watchouts
  • Ultrasound patient first before opening catheter to confirm they have enough fluid for the procedure
  • Procedure will be done with patient sitting up, legs draped over side of bed and leaning on our table
  • Have pillow available for patient to lean
  • Have suction canisters ready for drainage
  • Normal Saline 0.9% 1000 ml

  • Fluoro drape
  • Probe cover
  • Pickups
  • 4-0 Suture
  • Biopatch
  • Aspira Pleural catheter box (Red box – Pyxis outside Lab 3)
  • Aspira Pleural home dressing kit (Blue box – Pyxis outside Lab 3)
  • Suction tubing
  • 5 in 1 adapter

Bronzo

  • Dermabond
  • Will get access first, then tunnel towards the access

Dare

  • Tunnel, retrograde after inserting

Raj

  • Patient supine
  • Access then tunnel
  • Arms out to side (not above head)
  • 75cm Amplatz wire
  • Exofin

Brittany

  • Will get access first, then tunnel
  • 3.0 Vicryl
  • Dermabond/Exofin
