TUNNELED DIALYSIS CATHETER PLACEMENT/EXCHANGE/REMOVAL

  • Heparinized Saline 1000 ml

Placement

  • Angio pack
  • Fluoro drape
  • Probe cover
  • Turtle shell cover
  • Micro puncture kit
  • Pickups
  • Biopatch
  • Equistream TDC catheter (ask MD – length)
  • Yellow caps
  • Medium tegaderm or Sorba view
  • Ioban
  • Exofin

TDC EXCHANGE

  • Amplatz wire 180cm (or see MD preference)
  • Dilator
  • Extra scissor
  • Extra chloraprep
  • Sutures (see MD preference)


TDC REMOVAL

  • Laceration tray
  • Chloraprep
  • 4x4 gauze
  • Medium tegaderm
  • Towels
  • Eye drape

If lidocaine is needed, will need to pull

  • 12cc syringe
  • 18G needle
  • 25G needle

BRONZO:

    • Will ask for specific size before case and doesn’t measure wire
  • 0-silk suture
  • 3.0 Vicryl


Dare

    • Before case, use measuring side of 11 blade to make marks every 5 cm on table
    • Dare will insert micropuncture wire and bend with hemostat then hand back to you to measure and confirm appropriate length
  • 4-0 Vicryl
  • 3.0 Vicryl

  • Flowswitch
  • 3-0 Vicryl

  • 0 Silk
  • Will use cope wire in micropuncture kit
  • Equistream
    • Will tell you which size based on patient’s height
