ROUGH DRAFT: Loop Implant Procedure Workflow

Patient Identification and Pre-Procedure Check

Confirm patient’s full name and date of birth using two identifiers

Verify and document allergies

Verify procedure and consent form is signed and complete
Patient Preparation

Patient Preparation

Walk patient to ACU bathroom

Provide:

Hospital gown

Hair cover and shoe cover

Belongings bag for clothes and personal items

Instruct patent to:

Remove everything from the waist up

Put on a hospital gown open to the front

Place personal belonging in the bag

Transfer to Procedure Room

Walk patient to the procedure room once ready

Assist patient onto the procedure table.

Bring pillow from ACU

Prep and monitoring:

Attach ECG leads, blood pressure cuff, pulse oximeter.

Ensure comfort and explain each step

During Procedure

Maintain patient comfort and safety

Monitor vital signs throughout

Post-procedure Care

Remove ECG stickers and blood pressure cuff

Assess the insertion site for bleeding or swelling

Ensure patient is stable before ambulation

Recovery and Discharge

Walk patient back to the bathroom to change into personal clothing

Assist as needed for safety

Accompany patient to the waiting room

Provide discharge instructions for wound care and follow up. Device instructions given by the company representative

Documentation

Document completion of all steps, including consent, monitoring, patient tolerance and discharge condition

Discharge patient from the facility

In Epic Status board highlight patient’s name

Go to “Patient Movement” and select “Discharge” as the disposition

Verify discharge location and time
