Mid Shift Checklist Prior to End of Shift Departure

Second Lab Set-Up; ready for following case

-Check that next patient is consented

-NPO status

-Check MAR

-Check Labs

-Fill Out Time-Out Board

-Make sure Patient is registered in all systems

-All known procedural equipment pulled and set if possible

-Patient Table set with procedure appropriate linens, patches, and stickers

OR Close Lab Down for the day

-meds properly disposed or returned

-everything put away including unused supplies, all equipment plugged into power

-all equipment turned off (Ultrasound Machine, X-Ray, Defibrillators, Baylis Generator, Cardiolab, Claris, stimulator, Sign out of MacLab, Vantagview Tablet)


Daily Lab Maintenance

-blanket warmer stocked

-all dirty instruments and cables brought down to reprocessing

-all resterilized equipment picked up from repossessing and put away

-all unused supplies put away

-meds properly disposed of or returned
