Setup
Supplies
- Penumbra engine(vacuum pump)
- Cannister
- Cat RX kit
Circulator
- Get Engine unit from behind room 1
- Bring a canister and the Cat RX box
- Drop kit contents on sterile field
- Plug unit in and turn on
- Connect passed off tubing to canister
Scrub
- Open package
- Pass off tubing to circulator
- Per rep: remove switch from tubing
- Attach catheter to tubing
- Open to vacuum when exiting guide, keep vacuum on until out of guide catheter outside the body
Breakdown
- Dispose of tubing and canister
- Clean engine and return to sub-sterile behind room 1
General Notes
- Switch is optional, it can cause clogs
- Pinch tubing if switch isn’t used before insertion to test vacuum
