URETERAL/NEPHROURETERAL STENT PLACEMENT:
- Confirm with Physician about size of tube needed
- Confirm side and if native or transplant kidney
- 100% Contrast (hand injection) unless the Physician states otherwise.
- Normal Saline 0.9% 1000 ml
Warning: Patient is prone, so be aware of marking laterality on fluoro!

- Fluoro drape
- Turtle shell cover
- Probe cover
- 0-Silk suture
- K-50 tubing
- Amplatz guide wire 180cm
- Glidewire 180cm
- Bentson guide wire
- Torque device (if needed)
- Cope wire
- Green access needle
- Accustick set
- Dawson Mueller catheter
- Bernstein catheter 65cm
- Slit Gauze
- Large tegaderm
- Leg bag
- 12cc syringe
- Ureteral & Nephroureteral stents (cabinet sterile core)
If leaving Nephrostomy tube:
- Dawson Mueller catheter – confirm with MD
- Leg bag
If transplant kidney:
- Don’t need Bentson wire
- Will use 12cm length stent
